Create multiple employees at once

You can easily create multiple employee profiles at once by importing an Excel spreadsheet into Plecto.

If you’re managing a large team, Excel import is the fastest way to get everyone into Plecto. Here’s how:

  1. Download the template:

    • Go to Settings > Employees.

    • Click the three dots in the top-right corner and select Import from Excel.

    • Click Download template.

  2. Fill in the template: Open the downloaded spreadsheet and enter the following information:

    • First Name and Last Name (required)

    • Email (optional)

    • Team name (optional)

    • Parent team name (optional)

    • Team manager? (add "Yes" if the employee is a team manager, leave blank if not a manager)

  3. Upload and review:

    • Return to the same page where you downloaded the template.

    • Upload your completed spreadsheet and click Preview.

    • Review the details carefully. If needed, adjust your spreadsheet and re-upload.

  4. Import:

    • When everything looks correct, click Import.

    • Your new employee profiles will now appear on the Employees page.
