Step 1: Get an API token from Stack Overflow

To integrate your Stack Overflow account with Plecto, you need to provide an API token and a team name.

  1. You can generate a personal access token on the Account Settings page on your Stack Overflow account. Follow their help guide for instructions.

  2. You can find your team name in the Stack Overflow URL: https://stackoverflow.com/c/<team_name>/questions

Once you have the credentials, move to Step 2.

Step 2: Integrate Stack Overflow with Plecto

  1. Go to Data managementData sources > + New data source > Stack Overflow.

  1. Insert your API token and team name.

  2. Click Next.

  3. Select the data types you want to import to Plecto.

  4. (Optional) Expand the Advanced settings to change the data source title, default date field used in formulas, or other settings. You can access the settings also after you've created the data source.

  5. Click Next to finish and import your data.

Available data types

Import your data from Stack Overflow to Plecto and see your question KPIs in real time. For each data type you add, Plecto will create one data source and list it under Data management > Data sources. You can currently import the following data types:

  • Answers

  • Comments

  • Questions

  • Users
